On March 27, we welcomed James Squire , the British Ambassador, and his delegation to the Switzerland Innovation Park East. The visit began with an insight into Empa’s research activities, followed by an interested exchange in our park.
Our CEO, Hans Ebinger, welcomed the British guests to the Piazza and gave an introduction to the vision of the park, which was followed by a lively discussion about similar facilities in the UK. The focus of the visit was on innovative projects, some of which were presented. Stephanie Eugster presented the BildungsLab Smartfeld , while Reto Vincenz shared the story of MycoSolutions . A special moment was the discussion about the emergence of specific use cases at MycoSolutions through chance encounters.
The tour of the park also included discussions with Jan-Philip Schade from Kaspar& and André Bernard from Matriq , who both spoke about the possible applications of their technologies. In the showroom of the HEALTH Innovation Hub, exhibits such as the ECG sensor and the MIMO radar could also be tried out, which generated enthusiastic interest.
The entire visit was characterized by interested questions and opened up new perspectives for future cooperation in the field of innovation. We are grateful for the deep interest shown by James Squire and his delegation and look forward to the opportunities that arise.
