Ionic Wind Technologies from St.Gallen receives the rough diamond for the best business idea. The company develops silent, energy-efficient ventilation systems for industry.
Novaziun wins starting field diamond
Novaziun AG from Surselva wins the Startfeld Diamond, worth 30,000 Swiss francs. In cooperation with mountain farmers, the young company has developed, tested and optimized a fully electric single-axle vehicle for use on steep slopes. The concept is patent protected. Thanks to its large storage capacity, the tractor can also operate in remote Alpine regions without a power grid, can be charged directly via a photovoltaic system and can be used as a stationary storage facility.
Christian Schmid, jury president of Startfeld Diamant and CEO of SGKB: “The monotrac is a real technical innovation, behind which stands a competent, motivated team. It is impressive that great importance was placed on optimized attachments and versatile applicability right from the development stage. The monotrac is therefore also suitable for silent winter service in tourist communities.”
Ionic Wind Technologies wins rough diamond
The EMPA spin-off uses the power of electrostatic fields to convert electrical current directly into air flows – without the need for conventional, bulky fans and blowers. This innovative, silent technology is suitable for cooling systems, drying processes or air purification. Ion wind systems are significantly more energy efficient than conventional ventilation systems and thus contribute to improving the environmental balance and reducing costs. This business idea with a patented concept wins the rough diamond with prize money of 10,000 francs.
