INTERDISCIPLINARY INNOVATIVE
We aim to strengthen collaboration between companies and local cutting-edge research. As an innovation hub, we enable faster development and direct market access for innovations. We provide support from the invention through innovation to the development of business models: in the areas of health, MEM industry and digitization.
HEALTH AND PERFORMANCE
How can we age well? And how do we stay efficient for a long time? Our focus area Health and Performance is dedicated to these questions and the corresponding answers. With the expert knowledge of our partners, we are establishing a national competence center for “Healthy Longevity” and making test infrastructures available together with them. Our partners are in particular the Cantonal Hospital of St.Gallen , the University of St.Gallen with its Medical Master at the HSG in cooperation with the University of Zurich and Empa ‘s health focus. We also initiate and support the development of digital health offerings.
Current projects:
“Dementia affects us all” Six-part hybrid lecture series, in cooperation with the University of St.Gallen
“Digital Therapeutics for Healthy Longevity” Development of scientific principles, in cooperation with the HSG School of Medicine, University and ETH Zurich

MEM INDUSTRY
From Eastern Switzerland to the world market: Many companies based here operate globally and are highly internationalized. With this ideal starting position, they exploit their potential: in photonics, microtechnology, sensor technology or in precision manufacturing. The Switzerland Innovation Park Ost supports these companies in maintaining and developing their global competitiveness. At the same time, we are working on setting up a national competence center for sensors.
DIGITALIZATION
Whether in health care, in business or in the MEM industry: digitization determines the competitiveness of a region. Because it makes many innovations and new business models possible in the first place. In St.Gallen, the topic is being strengthened by the IT-rockt initiative and by the School for Computer Science at the University of St.Gallen . Competences in digital innovation or leadership flow directly into entrepreneurial practice via the innovation park.
First project:
“From big data to the digital twin and good business decisions” Workshop, in cooperation with Empa, will take place on November 3rd. in St. Gallen (event language: English).
