A gemstone is not a diamond: The St.Galler Kantonalbank ‘s prize for young companies in collaboration with Startfeld (the startup support of the Switzerland Innovation Park East ) supports Eastern Swiss startups with unique business ideas and models to fully exploit their potential.
Past winners
The young entrepreneur prize is endowed with a total of CHF 30,000 and will be awarded for the 13th time in 2024. The nominated companies are supported with both advice and coaching and gain access to a broad knowledge and contact network throughout Eastern Switzerland. The application window is open now and until January 21, 2024.
From gemstone to diamond
The diamond in the rough – endowed with CHF 10,000 – is used to specifically target ideas and projects – particularly from the area of technical colleges and universities.
The prize for young companies – endowed with CHF 30,000 – supports Eastern Swiss startups with unique business ideas and models in fully exploiting their potential.
The two-stage application process enables young companies to critically examine their own model and further optimize it together with experts. The startups also benefit from communication measures that massively increase the awareness of their idea or product. In the first step, a preliminary jury nominates six finalists from all applications. Three in the “diamond” development phase category and three in the “rough diamond” idea phase category.
