“Connecting Great Minds” – This is also what our research partners have taken up. In order to be able to prevent tissue damage in the future, our research partners Empa and the Eastern Swiss University of Applied Sciences as well as the University of Bern and Bischoff Textil AG are working together.
Pressure ulcer tissue damage occurs when there is a lack of oxygen due to constant pressure and circulatory disorders. The three institutions are therefore working together to develop sensor-based smart textiles that indicate when the oxygen content in the skin drops. This allows those affected to react and prevent tissue damage.
“ Die Ostschweiz ” has published an exciting article about this collaboration. Feel free to read it.
To promote similar collaborations and projects in the field of sensor technology – this is also the goal of our SENSOR Innovation Hub . For this purpose, we offer a platform on which partners from research and industry can connect and exchange ideas about future projects.
