The demand for innovative solutions in the areas of optical sensors, laser technology and image processing is growing continuously, especially for applications in the smart manufacturing sector. Eastern Switzerland is considered a particularly dynamic center for photonics, Industry 4.0 and networked production systems. The 5-day trip includes visits to St. Gallen, Heerbrugg, Balzers (FL), Grüsch and Buchs . Through specialist lectures, company visits and networking modules, participants gain a deep insight into the Swiss industry, trends and current developments. The Chamber of Commerce organizes a specialist conference including tech talks and pitches in front of a Swiss specialist audience, networking events and individual B2B discussions that make it possible to explore concrete business opportunities and build new partnerships.

The trip is aimed at SMEs that offer innovative photonics solutions for smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0, such as manufacturers of optical sensors, laser sources, image processing systems and providers of automation solutions . Participation offers the opportunity to establish contacts with relevant Swiss players and facilitate market entry.
The project is part of the market development program for SMEs and is subject to the de minimis regulations. The cost contribution for companies depends on their size:
- 500 EUR (net) for companies with less than 2 million EUR annual turnover and fewer than 10 employees
- 750 EUR (net) for companies with less than 50 million EUR annual turnover and fewer than 500 employees
- 1,000 EUR (net) for companies with an annual turnover of 50 million EUR or more or 500 employees
Participants are responsible for their own travel expenses as well as accommodation and meals. The German-Swiss Chamber of Commerce will be happy to assist you with recommendations on hotel options.
