The first event in the event series organized by the Switzerland Innovation Park East and the University of St. Gallen drew the participants’ attention to important health topics. The evening offered valuable insights into the importance of vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids for health at every age. The other events in the series also promise a lot.
The opening event for the series “Health in Focus: Strategies for a Long and Healthy Life” attracted an interested audience to the innovative HSG Square. Dr. Volker Schmiedel, specialist in physical and rehabilitative medicine, naturopathy and homeopathy, presented an informative lecture and led a lively discussion.
Current topic
The event highlighted the challenging supply situation of vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids in our society and emphasized their crucial role in the immune system as well as their positive effects on fighting inflammation and various diseases. The event was attended by an engaged and curious audience who actively participated in the discussion and posed their personal questions to the speaker.
Successful start
«We are thrilled with how we managed to make the scientific study results on taking vitamin D and omega-3 understandable to a broad audience and show positive examples of experiences from people of different ages (e.g. in the treatment of neurodermatitis, multiple sclerosis, breast cancer, Dementia etc.),” said PD Dr. oec. HSG Sabine Hoidn, lecturer and head of the Student-Centered Learning Lab, Sociological Seminar (SfS-HSG), SHSS, University of St. Gallen. “This series of events is intended to help raise awareness of important health issues, make scientifically based information accessible and strengthen personal responsibility. We look forward to the upcoming events and hope that they will be just as informative and enriching.”
Just the beginning
