It sheds light on the challenges\, opportunities and best practices for effectively integrating sustainable strategies into everyday corporate life. The focus is on practical solutions and recommendations for action\, which can be explored in greater depth in the SME-HSG sustainability guide. \n \nSimon Schoch is Managing Director of energienetz GSG AG and Head of Technical Sales at St.Galler Stadtwerke. It shows how industrial waste heat can be used as a resource. “With our anergy network\, we can substantially reduce CO2 emissions in the perimeter\, use local resources and increase energy efficiency in the companies.” \n \nDr. Fabian Takacs is an expert in sustainable transformation\, circular economy and business model innovation. In his presentation“Circular Economy & Business Model Innovation“\, he shows how companies can successfully implement the circular economy through innovative business models and the adaptation of industry standards. This is not just about ecological sustainability\, but also about strengthening economic resilience and securing long-term competitive advantages. \n \nThibault Huber sheds light on how companies can design sustainable and resource-conserving business models in the workshop “Creating value in flow: developing circular business models”. The focus is on circular economy strategies\, innovative value chains and practical approaches to implementation. Participants will gain valuable insights and inspiration for designing sustainable business models in their own practice. \n \nChristian Wick is a real estate developer and deals with the sustainable conversion and further development of existing sites. In his presentation “Transformation of the ‘KUBIK’ site and principles of the circular economy”\, he sheds light on the “KUBIK” and “Sitter Valley” projects in St. Gallen and shows how circular principles can be implemented in real estate development. It explores the question of what approaches were pursued in the “KUBIK” area\, what challenges a transformation of use entails – and where opportunities or stumbling blocks lie. \n \nDr. Nathalie Casas To limit climate change\, we need to compensate not only for future emissions\, but also for historical ones. One solution would be the “atmospheric vacuum cleaner”: we extract the excess CO2 from the atmosphere. What to do with it? Instead of extracting the carbon for polymers\, pharmaceuticals\, fibers\, fuels\, etc. from crude oil\, we use atmospheric CO2. This is the simple but technically highly sophisticated idea behind Empa’s new “Mining the Atmosphere” research initiative. \n \nNoah Heynen is CEO and co-founder of Helion and one of the key figures in the new energy world in Switzerland. In his presentation “What to do when solar power is worth less and less?”\, he highlights the opportunities opened up by the new Energy Act. He explains how companies can compensate for the loss in value of solar power – and gives specific recommendations on how SMEs can secure or even increase their profitability. \n \nSimone Hochstrasser is project manager for the circular economy at the Pusch Foundation and focuses on closing plastic cycles. She supports relevant initiatives as project manager or in her role as managing director of the Mattress Alliance. In her presentation entitled “Successful example of the circular economy in practice – goodbye mattress!”\, she will shed light on the topic of mattress recycling in Switzerland. Using the example of this complex plastic product\, she shows how challenging\, but also necessary and feasible\, its recycling is – and what concrete solutions there are for a functioning circular economy in this area. \n \nIvo Angehrn is Head of Sustainability Consulting at Drees & Sommer Switzerland with a focus on net zero and the circular economy. In his presentation “From energy efficiency to net zero”\, he will show how the market and political framework conditions are developing\, the central role that buildings and infrastructure play in this and the new opportunities that arise for regional value creation. Specific project examples show the scope of the transformation and how SMEs can change and position themselves in this environment. \n \nLorenz Neher is an expert in energy subsidy programs and\, in his presentation “Financial support for renewable and efficient energy projects”\, will show how building owners can benefit from subsidies. He explains how these programs contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions and the production of renewable heat and electricity consumption\, and what role data and big data play in this context. \nOur event is supported by:\n \n \nWe look forward to seeing you:\n \n \n \n \nRegistration

Afterwards\, there will be an opportunity to exchange ideas and get to know each other better. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInvestors Day coming soon\nThe startups are accompanied by coaches from the Innosuisse-Swiss Agency for Innovation Promotion and/or Startfeld and receive mandatory pitch training in the run-up to Investors Day. \n Date & time \nJune 11\, 2025 \n5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m \n Place \nInnovation Park EastLerchenfeldstrasse 39014 St.Gallen \n> to the route plan \n agenda \n\nPitches from the startups (including Q&A)\nStartup Fair and Networking\n\n quality assurance \nOnly startups that meet one of the following criteria will be admitted: \n\nInnosuisse Startup (Coaching Acceptance)\nStarting field funding package\nSICTIC – startup\n\nThe startups\n \n \nBabylat is a Swiss startup developing a novel bedside device that enables hospitals to produce onsite-made human milk-derived fortifiers for preterm infants. These infants require fortified milk to meet their unique nutritional needs and support healthy growth\, which our device achieves using only human milk (mother own milk or donor milk\, if first is not available)—so the diet of these neonates would be completely free of bovine components (current state of art). Backed by strong preclinical data\, three active patents\, and a clear regulatory pathway\, our device is fully ready for clinical trials. We are currently raising seed funding to bring this innovation to market and improve outcomes for the most vulnerable newborns. \n \n \nHafnova is building the cybersecurity layer the Internet was missing — a Swiss-engineered\, AI-powered platform that protects not just companies\, but their entire ecosystem. Unlike traditional security that reacts after an attack\, Hafnova blocks threats before they reach users\, devices\, or supply chains. Our technology labels the Internet in real-time\, preventing phishing\, malware\, and data breaches across remote workforces and critical partners — with zero infrastructure change needed. With a proven SaaS model\, early enterprise traction\, and compliance-first architecture\, Hafnova is poised to become Europe’s trusted cybersecurity alternative to US and Chinese giants. \n \n \nMindSpark 360  is a science-based SaaS platform that helps companies identify and manage psychosocial risks in the workplace. It combines predictive analytics with corporate data to detect early signs of employee stress\, burnout\, or turnover—without compromising individual privacy. Employees use a private app that starts with a research-backed questionnaire and an interactive chatbot to help them understand their own well-being data. Employers access an anonymized dashboard with AI-powered recommendations\, built on aggregated insights. Based on five years of validated research\, MindSpark 360 empowers both individuals and organizations to create healthier\, more productive work environments. \n \n \nQuantalQ automates your software documentation\, saving time\, reducing costs\, and keeping everything up to date. Using AI technology\, it generates and updates recipient oriented documentation directly from your code\, significantly reducing the manual effort required from developers. This leads to faster development cycles\, fewer errors\, and a better shared understanding across the entire product teams. With QuantalQ Doc\, you get high-quality\, always-current documentation without the usual overhead.  \n \n \nMODUVO transforms interior construction with circular partition wall systems that streamline building processes\, eliminate waste\, and conserve resources. Using prefabricated wall elements\, MODUVO enables rapid\, clean\, and flexible space design — all made in Switzerland. Its product lines\, FLEX Pro and VARIO Timber\, deliver high performance\, reusability\, and long-term value. The result: more efficient workflows\, reduced environmental impact\, and a smarter way to build for the future. \n \n \nNetzoptimal develops modular smart grid software that empowers energy suppliers and distribution grid operators to tackle the challenges of the energy transition – efficiently\, economically\, and in a grid-friendly way. With the NETZ-p and NETZ-e solutions\, power flows are intelligently controlled\, grid overloads are avoided\, and energy costs are significantly reduced. The intuitive interface and seamless integration lay the technological foundation for a flexible\, stable\, and sustainable energy system. Netzoptimal stands for the smart integration of renewables and the optimal use of existing grid assets – simple\, impactful\, and future-ready. \n \n \nfortyfour is revolutionizing greenhouse farming with sustainable CO2 enrichment. While European greenhouses currently inject millions of tons of fossil CO2 to enhance crop growth\, Swiss regulators expect greenhouses to become carbon-neutral by 2040. We solve this issue with a groundbreaking fully-electric Direct Air Capture technology that extracts CO2 directly from the atmosphere. \n \n \nUpGrid’s platform empowers energy communities to co-own\, share\, and store clean energy. They are building the digital backbone of tomorrow’s grid: local\, connected\, and smart.

We shift the learning curve away from the patient toward safe\, scalable training\, anytime\, anywhere\, at any level. With our patented technology\, education becomes more lifelike\, efficient\, and ethical than ever before. \n \n \nLightlink is developing a novel\, patented camera system for display color measurement. Current market solutions do not adequately address the challenges of modern display technology\, such as color variation across displays. Our system helps display manufacturers enhance the quality of their next-generation displays\, shorten development time\, and reduce waste during mass production. \n \n  \n \nTreeScatter is building the Google Maps for forests\, transforming forest management with an AI-powered platform that creates accurate 3D digital twins at tree level. We shift forestry decisions away from guesswork toward data-driven insights\, enabling sustainable operations at scale. Our technology makes forest management more accurate\, efficient\, and profitable than ever before. \n \n \nAvientus\, an ETH Zurich spin-off\, is redefining drone logistics with its patented fixed-wing eVTOL drones and proprietary ground stations. It solves the problem that flexible and fast just-in-time deliveries are currently very expensive (>2 CHF/km)\, disrupting workflows and forcing companies to bind capital in large inventories. Avientus serves industries in urgent need of spare parts with cost-efficient deliveries (0.1 CHF/km)\, while also unlocking new possibilities for remote regions and defense logistics\, with fully autonomous payload handling and a best-in-class payload-to-weight ratio. \n \n  \n \nThermal Transformer tackles one of AI data centers’ biggest bottlenecks — cooling. Our technology de-electrifies cooling by turning waste heat from GPU servers into chilled water\, cutting electricity use by up to 30%. As AI demand surges and power grids reach their limits\, our modular 100 kW adsorption chillers offer a scalable\, sustainable solution. \n \n \nSupplyConnect is an AI-native\, highly scalable add-on that solves one of corporate procurement’s biggest headaches: digitally connecting to all tens of thousands of suppliers\, regardless of their size or digital capabilities. We eliminate supplier-side friction by creating an intelligent AI layer between incumbent cloud procurement systems (like SAP Ariba) and non-onboarded suppliers. This unique approach streamlines onboarding and compliance without displacing existing infrastructure or forcing suppliers into new portals. Enterprises gain faster activation\, lower costs\, and higher participation across their entire supply base\, finally realizing the full value proposition of their cloud procurement investments. \nMany thanks to our sponsor! \n \nWe look forward to your participation!
